Round Robin Quilts

I have several lady friends who like to quilt and, in fact, taught me how. We sometimes participate in round robin quilting--which is when each of us makes a center block and then sends it to one of the other ladies. That person then quilts a border on it, following a rule we all decide on (such as a border made of triangles, or a border using crazy squares). It goes around to each lady and then we send it back to the person who made the center block. Here are some examples:

Yesenia's Drawing Quilt

When Yesenia was little, she was already a pretty good drawer. Now she's amazing! But, back then, she liked to copy Lisa Frank stuff, so I let her draw a bunch of pictures on fabric with fabric crayons and we put them in a quilt.

Roads and Rivers Baby Quilt

I made this for my nephew, Caleb, Mary's 3rd son. It's an interactive quilt, designed to be thrown on the floor and played with using Hotwheel cars.

A Table Runner for Me---Finally!

I finally got tired of giving away all the table runners I've made, so I made this one for myself in fall of 2004. My plan was to make myself a table runner for each month of the year. So far I still only have one.

Grandmother's Table Runner

I made this table runner for Aaron's maternal grandparents, the Irvings. There was no special occasion, but Aaron's parents came up for a visit in the summer of 2004 and so I sent this back with them.

Hot Air Balloon Baby Quilt

I made this baby quilt for Aaron's cousin on his Dad's side, Kimberly Clark. This was for her first baby, a boy (but, darn! I can't recall his name!) I also made this in the summer of 2004.

My Nana's Table Runner

I made my Nana this table runner in the summer of 2004. I just wanted to give her something nice. She kept it on her kitchen table until just last year when she and Papa moved to live with my aunt and uncle. They don't have a table of their own anymore, so they left it behind. My sister, Mary, though found it and kept it, saying she'd had her eye on it for a long time. It decorates her table now (which is fine with me, but don't tell Mary).
