I have several lady friends who like to quilt and, in fact, taught me how. We sometimes participate in round robin quilting--which is when each of us makes a center block and then sends it to one of the other ladies. That person then quilts a border on it, following a rule we all decide on (such as a border made of triangles, or a border using crazy squares). It goes around to each lady and then we send it back to the person who made the center block. Here are some examples:
